Glenn Kinney, President
Glenn has been involved with the Harvard University community, supporting media for major events such as Harvard University’s Hasty Pudding Man and Woman of the Year, Science and Cooking, a verity of large lecture series and press releases related to Harvard University research. His dedication to the university spanned for 33 years. Besides supporting Harvard University, he has created Leominster Housing and Development, a development company focused on providing Worcester County quality apartment living. To support his interest in entertainment, Glenn is a successful mobile DJ for Kinney DJ Services that specializes in wedding, corporate events, and private parties.
Todd Gauvin, Vice President
Todd is a line crew leader at Unitil Electric, where he has worked since 2012 and serves as the Vice President of the UWUA Local B340. A life long resident of Fitchburg, Todd is a graduate of FHS class of ’93 and a graduate of FSU. Todd is an avid volunteer throughout the city taking on projects for the Fitchburg Street Hockey League, Boy Scouts of America, and as a crew member at FATV. While volunteering for FATV Todd particularly enjoys covering FHS and FSU sporting events where he often takes on the challenge as a replay technician. He is the recipient of the 2022 Romolo Testarmata Award, honoring his volunteerism to FATV and the community. By serving on the FATV Board of Directors, Todd hopes to add to the value that FATV provides to the community.
Ellen Daoust, Clerk
Ellen has worked in the intersection of media production, community engagement and education for the past decade. She has FATV to thank for kick-starting her career in media production back in 2011 and sees the value that FATV brings to Fitchburg residents in access to knowledge, education, equipment and community building. She is currently the Associate Director of Education at Cambridge Community Television and knows firsthand both the magic and struggles of working in community media. Prior to working at CCTV, Ellen worked in media production at the Museum of Science in Boston and then freelanced for institutions such as the Boston Children’s Museum, MIT and the Boston Gay Men's Chorus. She holds a BA in Government and Spanish from Smith College, an MS in Applied Communications from Fitchburg State University and a Graduate Certificate in Digital Video from Northeastern University. She recently returned to her hometown of Fitchburg with her husband, daughter, and has a baby on the way.
Sharon Bernard, Treasurer
Sharon Bernard retired as the Director of the Fitchburg Public Library in 2022 after working at the library for most of the past 51 years. She holds a BS in English from Fitchburg State ('99) where she was a student representative on the English faculty board. Ms. Bernard is a 2001 graduate with an MLIS from Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science. As a former member of the Rotary Club of Fitchburg, she served as president and is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. She currently serves on the board of Aging Services of North Central Massachusetts and the Institutional Review Board at Fitchburg State University.
Matt Bruun
Matt Bruun is the Director of Communications and Public Affairs at Fitchburg State University, where he has worked since 2009. Prior to that post, he was a professional journalist for 17 years, working at newspapers in Massachusetts and New York, including the Telegram & Gazette and Sentinel & Enterprise. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1992 with a dual degree in English and Journalism, and completed a Master’s Degree in Applied Communications at Fitchburg State in 2014. He currently chairs the Fitchburg Public Library Board of Trustees, and previously served on the Fitchburg Cultural Council and the Fitchburg School Committee.
Kat Deal
Kat Deal serves as the Project Analyst and Coordinator for the North Central Massachusetts Coalition for Employer-Supported Childcare. Previously, she worked as the Events and Programs Manager at the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce. A Gardner resident for over 20 years, Kat has been deeply involved in the North Central Massachusetts community through her extensive volunteer work. Kat has collaborated with FATV on a variety of initiatives, including programming for the Community Leadership Institute. Her passion for volunteerism is evident in her service on several boards and committees, including a seat on the Event Leadership Team for the Greater Gardner Relay for Life, founding member of the Gardner Farmers Market Committee, At Large member of the Board of Directors for the Public Relations Society of America’s Greater Worcester Chapter, and as the Event Chair on the Board of Directors for the HealthAlliance Guild.
Luisa Fernandez
After relocating from Venezuela to the United States in 2015, Luisa Fernandez, her husband, and their two kids settled in Fitchburg. Luisa became actively involved in the local public school system, first as a volunteer and then as a paraprofessional, ultimately serving as the Coordinator of Family & Community Engagement at Fitchburg Public Schools. In this role, she has launched programs that foster strong connections between schools and families.
Luisa's community contributions have garnered significant recognition, including a citation from the Massachusetts House of Representatives and being named a Commonwealth Heroine by the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women in 2022. In 2023, she received the Boulder Award from Fitchburg Access Television. Her efforts to promote cultural diversity and community engagement have earned her a place among the 2024 WBJ 40 Under 40 honorees. Through partnerships with local organizations, Luisa exemplifies a commitment to improving the quality of life for Fitchburg residents. Her positive impact inspires many, especially Hispanic families in the area.
Scott May
Scott’s career in radio broadcasting, corporate communications and training and access television spanned 46 years beginning with his first professional radio job at WFGL in Fitchburg in 1971. His corporate career included employment at Digital Equipment Corporate, New England Financial, and MetLife. Scott became the Community Access Coordinator at FATV in December of 2011, and moved into the position of Executive Director at FATV in 2015, where he served for three years before retiring. Scott previously served for five months in 2018 on the FATV Board of Directors, and has been a member of the Ashburnham-Westminster Community Media Access Station Board of Directors for six years. Since his retirement, Scott has served for five years in a volunteer position with FATV as co-producer and host of North Central Journal, receiving the Excellence Award from FATV in 2022. Scott has been a member of Aurora Lodge of Masons in Fitchburg for more than 50 years, serving as Worshipful Master of the Lodge in 1976. Scott has also been a team member and volunteer for the Greater Gardner Relay For Life for more than 20 years.
George Mirijanian
George is Program Director of the Wachusett Chess Club at Fitchburg State University - a position he has held since November 1968, when he started writing chess news for the Fitchburg Sentinel that evolved into a weekly chess column in the early 1970s for the Sentinel & Enterprise. He is a former President of the Massachusetts Chess Association and the New England Chess Association, as well as a New England Regional Vice President of the U.S. Chess Federation. He has been hosting "Chess Chat" on FATV since October 2006 and has served on the station's Board of Directors for more than 15 years. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, he was member of the production crew that televised World Chess Championships matches for PBS, working out of WGBY-TV in Springfield, Mass. and a PBS affiliate in Brooklyn, NY. In addition to "Chess Chat," George has also been part of the production crew of FATV's "Friday Nights in Fitchburg History Club" programs that aired several years ago. In his college years, George hosted a Russian-language classical music program on WUNH radio at the University of New Hampshire in Durham.
Kyle Moody
Kyle has been located at the nexus of online media production, online communities, and information transmission for close to 15 years. He is an Associate Professor of Communications Media at Fitchburg State University, where he brings FATV into his classroom through collaborations and productions. He got his start as a station manager, program director, and music director at WWHR-FM in Bowling Green, Kentucky while he was pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He later earned his Master of Arts in Mass Communication at Miami University, and his PhD in Mass Communication from the University of Iowa. He has published on fake news and video games across his career.
Francisco Ramos
Francisco is an experienced community organizer with more than thirty-five years of experience practicing both in Massachusetts and Illinois. He is currently the Director of Community Organizing with NewVue Communities, an agency located in Fitchburg that serves the North Central Massachusetts region. Francisco created the Steward Leadership Development Training Program, a peer-to-peer and trainer-the-trainer model that has trained and graduated more than 400 community leaders since 2018. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, an unfinished Master’s Degree in theological studies, and a DEI certificate from Cornell University. Francisco is married, has three children, and lives in Clinton, Massachusetts. He likes to read, explore new places and communities, and loves nature trails in Massachusetts and elsewhere.
